Program Management & Preconstruction Services


Preconstruction Services are our bread and butter. Getting the project going in the right direction with the best team for that project is critical. We assist in all preconstruction activities including; AE selection, Delivery method selection review, CM/D-B/GC selection, Union negotiations, Project Scheduling and Tracking, Cost Estimating, Constructability Reviews, Design Management, Value Engineering, Contract Consultation, and Risk Analysis. This is where we can help the most bringing your project in on time and on budget.

Construction Management/Project Management


Owners are under staffed and over worked and then you are given the job of managing the construction effort also. That is where we can step in. Getting a project in the ground is hard enough. The great news is you are in the final stretch but you are not out of the woods. White Birch will protect your interest during the construction phase. Change order reviews, schedule reviews, coordinating owner subcontractors with the Prime Contractor, etc. is where we can help. Sorry to say you still will need to be involved but we sure can help you sleep better at night.

Project Scheduling


Part of preconstruction services is establishing a detailed and accurate schedule and assign responsiblity owner of each task. Reviewing and updating is the next important step. Not only do we have the expertise in use of the programs, we know how to lead the process of getting accurate information in the schedule. Quality input, quality output. We utilize both MS Project and Primavera Suretrak software. Both are excellent tools with each one having advantages depending on the specific project. See a Schedule example

UPDATE: WHITE BIRCH HAS BEEN PROVIDING PUBLIC PROJECT, 4 PRIME SCHEDULING SERVICES ON SMALLER PROJECTS (<$5m) WHERE PRIMES TYPICALLY HAVE LESS EXPERTISE.   EITHER WORKING AS A SUBCONSULTANT TO THE CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATOR (ARCHITECT) OR THE OWNER DIRECT, THIS HAS PROVEN ITSELF TO AVOID DISPUTES WHILE ALSO KEEPING AN ACCURATE RECORD IN CASE IT IS EVER NEEDED.

Cost Estimating/Quantity Surveying
